Calvin Eyre Predicts the Future
It seems that Calvin Ayre is not happy with being the creator of one of the world’s top gambling companies, Bodog. Instead he fancies his chances as a Fortune-Teller as well. We like the bloke though - so we don't mind...
Here is Mr Ayre with his predictions for the online gambling industry in 2012…
In the States, Ayre believes the odds of one more state doing remote gambling in 2012 is like flipping a coin. But despite believing that progress will be slow he believes the state-by-state process that started in late 2010 with remote sports betting in Nevada will continue to spread over the coming decade. He also believes that it will be the companies with the best technology that will be the big winners.
Ayre believes that the European gambling market is fragmented and consists of non co-operative companies, which will only cause further division at an increased rate of pace.
In Asia he sees a fresh up and coming market with the ability to become bigger and stronger than the rest of the world, “If you do not have a toehold in Asia, you have no business calling yourself an industry player,” said Ayre.
Just behind Asia, in terms of promise, is the Latin American market, “The southern half of the western hemisphere will never rival Asia in terms of scale, but in gambling terms, it’s largely virgin territory, and probably represents the second best market to target in 2012.”
Last but not least Ayre believes that India is a billion dollar industry just waiting to be discovered.
